LONG WHITE CLOUD

New Zealand · 1840

A ship has put you ashore on a wild coast — bush to the hills, a river to the bay, and seventy-five days until winter. Cut timber, raise huts, lay by food and firewood. Every settler will be a real person with real needs; every shortage will have a reason you can find.

Eight settlers land with the ship's stores. Mark out a forester's camp in the bush, a hut, a woodcutter and something that makes food: labourers carry the logs and raise the frames, and the rest follows. They eat, they burn firewood against the cold, they have children — and they starve or freeze if you let them. Click any settler to see what they are doing and what they are short of.
